Model Railroading – FAQ

You are here: Home / Model Railroading – FAQ

WHAT SCALE IS THE CB&W MODEL RAILROAD CLUB?

The CB&W models 1/87 scale.

IS THERE A CONVERSION TABLE FOR HO SCALE?

Click here for the HO Scale Conversion Table

CAN I CONTACT THE CLUB IF I HAVE QUESTIONS REGARDING THE PURCHASE OF A TRAIN SET?

Yes, the club or any of its members are more than willing to assist with any model train question.  Be it a technical question, or one about a set you’d like to sell or donate.  You can drop the club an e-mail at: cbandw.mrc@gmail. com or by phone (leave a message) at (757) 898-0717

I HAVE AN OLD HO SCALE LOCOMOTIVE.  CAN IT BE CONVERTED TO DIGITAL COMMAND CONTROL?

Most HO scale locomotives can be converted to DCC and in some instances….even sound can be added.  The overall site has several “How To” videos, check and see which one best suits your needs.  If you don’t see one, drop us an e-mail and we’ll see what we can do.

I’D LIKE TO JOIN THE CB&W.  WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

You have two options.  First, just download the Membership Application  Fill it out (include a $10 non-refundable application fee) and once completed just stop by the club at 110-F Dare Road, Grafton VA and leave it with a club member.  The second option, stop by the club, pick-up and complete an application, then leave it (with your application fee) with a club member.  Once the membership committee receives your application, the club will reach out via e-mail and provide instructions as to what you will do next.

I’D LIKE TO MAKE A DONATION, BE IT CASH OR MODEL RAILROAD RELATED ITEMS.  WOULD THIS DONATION BE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE?  IF SO, WHO DO I CONTACT?

You can drop the committee chairman Ralph Digges, an e-mail at:  cbwdonations@cox.net or by phone: (757) 871-0200
