About This Project

The Town of Widen is the final bustling town you pass through as you approach French Creek yard.  Like the old days, you’ll find a railroad track running straight through the middle of town.  This was necessary to deliver goods to the local business, the propane facility on the east end of town, and the lumber mill on the west end.  Check out the pizza shop, casket factory, and many other shops that line the main street in Widen.  Passengers can catch the train to destinations east in the center of town on the mainline.  We created a unique view in Widen through the creation of building flats that line the layout as you face the street.  You will get a fantastic view as if you are looking “through the windows” of these highly detailed building.  Don’t forget to check out the coal mines on both ends of the town and the maintenance of way tracks behind the mainlines.  With operating traffic signals, a fire station and other interesting details, there is quite a bit to see in the Town of Widen.
