Langley Yard is the eastern terminus of the layout. It houses a large classification yard, a diesel facility and several industries and cooperative residences along its mainline. You pass through the Town of Phoebus just prior to entering a reverse loop, which will allow mainline trains to immediately commence a westbound journey if desired. Langley also connects traffic to and from Columbia Furnace, effectively allowing trains to traverse the lower level in a continuous loop. There is a large staging area above that connects the two main yards, Langley and French Creek, using a nine spiral helix. This is convenient to operate trains that travel in the same direction all the time such as loaded or empty coal trains. The diesel facility on the west end offers a place for diesel locomotive to get any needed maintenance, while the city park provides onlookers a view of the entire area in support of their railfanning desires. Langley is one of the primary areas of use on the layout since members typically set up and break down their trains in the yard.
